Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Lol I went to the store. The hole is exactly the size of a pen hole. So if you took a ball point and pushed through that's how big the hole is. I went through the shell into the area where the airspace is. I did not punched through to where he is at.

Today is day 28. There was only one other egg and he hatched overnight last night.

These were from the batch of 12 where the other 10 eggs were infertile and I got screwed. Really hope this guy makes it. He was slightly rocking when I left I know I wasn't imagining it!!! Lol

HAHAHA she isn't stressed yet, is she?  Expecially if that little guy makes NO progress, THAT's WHEN THE STRESS COMES ON. OH BOY.  I have a feeling this little guy is upside down.  OUCH,  Now that's going to be fun...

LOL. I'm already stressed about mine and she's not even going into lock down until Sunday Wanting something so bad, something you have little control over, something you can't even see yet, is very stressful lol

Will do. Nothing so far. When I shine a light the egg tremors. I say tremors because it doesn't rock like how the other duck eggs did, it's very slight to the point I could be imagining it.

Don't have a good feeling about it but maybe if Im lucky he'll either be out by morning or at least coming through. Will update in the AM.

Rocking is very good sign hopefully he can do it on his own but only time will tell now..

Just candled mine omg he's like right there at the top of the shell, lol mine will be cracking in the next 24 to 48 hours, THE EXPERIMENT IS WORKING!!!!!

Yes hoping he's alive still. I candled my bobwhites to keep me busy. 43 of 60 are fertile and alive. Not bad for shipped eggs!

My next batch of Anconas (five eggs total) go into lockdown next Wednesday and due to hatch Saturday. Have 3 the following week, then the bobwhites the next week, then a batch that I have down to 13 so far the next week.

My male ancona has started mounting the females. So now if they start laying I can set and hatch my own.

Have some blues coming down to me in December from Worth It Farm in Atlanta. Can't wait!
