Ok onion in. I forgot! I also took shell off the chest area so It couldn't shrink wrap and suffocate. This one is going to live!!! darnit!!! I did that this morning after it got it's foot out. I will continue to re-wet each 2 hours. Is that right?

I need advice on 1 of my Khaki Campbell duck eggs. It pipped on the bottom - not wrong end just side facing bottom of incubator. I have no idea when because I couldn't see it. This egg has been wiggling ALOT and very noisy for at least the last 4 hours. I noticed the egg was starting to discolor so I opened the bator quick and rolled it over and that's when I discovered it had pipped but it has this dark sticky stuff on the outside and looks like maybe the membrane is drying but I'm not sure if its just discolored from the dark stuff on the outside of the egg. What is that stuff? He's still moving but not wiggling the egg at all anymore. Do I help now or give him a little longer now that his face isn't in the ground? My temp is holding at 99.7 and humidity 65% (it dropped to 63% when I opened but recovered quickly).
