Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Your first egg you should actually be cracking it open, look for the bulls eye ring, if its there your good to go, if it is not then open your next one until you see that bullseye ring, THEN and only THEN you will have your first baby..

Oh my boys have been mating with my Perdy for sometime now (around like a month), so I have a good feeling our first little egg is fertilized! :)

I brought her first egg in last night and her second egg in this morning! I wanted her to be able to hatch them herself cause I can tell she has already bonded with them! With it being as cold as it is right now though, I'm going to incubate them! If she continues laying an egg a day, I'll have 6 eggs to incubate on February 20th!

I do already look at her little eggs like babies, whether they are EDIBLE right now or not. They are my babies and I'm going to do everything I can to ensure their health and happiness.

I see!! have you ever incubated before?

Of course! Both chickens and ducks!

My Mallards I hatched this past September! Eleven of twelve a 92% hatch rate! :)

I'm not cracking ANY egg of Perdy's open. After a week or two of incubation, if I see one or more than one isn't fertilized I'll discard it.
LOL cracking it is the quickest way to tell.

So do you plan on continuing to collect even after once you have those in the bator? because if you wait two weeks for the ones in the bator and realize they aren't any good, the eggs that you have collected during that time, are already going to be two weeks old and the older they are the chances decrease. and once you put them in the bator, you shouldn't continue to add eggs, then you will run into problems because they will have different due dates..

Just trying to help you get babies before you start bating them...
