Calling all APA and/or ABA breeders!

That Leghorn is so cute... and so white! So clean! How ever did you manage it?
And he seems really sweet. The Leghorns I have can’t stand being in the same room as me.
Thanks, I don't really know, bought him as a pullet at TSC, with his sister Laia. She is probably the opposite of breed standard. As for temperament, their Deffidently not cuddly, but very treat motivated. Laia likes touch, not like my Orphingtons though. Tino doesn't as much, he went through a mean streak last week, pecking me when I'd let him out in the morning, then one day, I grabbed a twig, and when he ran at me, I simply held it out in front of me... No I would never thwak him with it. I freaked him out, and he is now sweet as can be once more.☺

I am not a member of either one of them mostly because of the drama nowadays, but have been breeding standard Cubalaya for 15+ years and bantams for 9 years. I am discouraged by most of the standard terms not being used as another member here expressed.

Cubalayas! You don’t see those often.

I started breeding Araucanas spring of 2019. I do breed towards the Standard...really just trying to maintain the standard. I was blessed to have bought out a retiring Araucana breeder and exhibitor who raised these birds for almost 30 years. Needless to say, her culling for all those years has left me with little work to do. My fertility is off the charts and the chicks are extremely vigorous. Knock on wood, I haven't even hatched anything with a partial tail which I don't think any other Araucana breeder can say. To make things challenging I am trying to start a white line out of a random white cockerel I hatched last summer from my BBR pen. I'm also trying to start a golden duckwing line from the same pair.

This was to be my first year showing. I was also registered for classes to be an NPIP tester, however the Covid crap put an end to that. Our state show is still on for October, so hopefully it won't be cancelled as I have a nice, double tufted white pullet I'd like to show.

Here are some of the chicks I have bred and hatched the past two years:

You have a very nice breeding program going!

X2!! I’ll post some of mine if you do :)
Here is one of my semi-retired Booted Bantams with his d'Uccle hen, both mille fleur color, and a foster Houdan. Houdans are not usually setters, and mine are definitely not! So I have to go to another breed or two for expert parenting.

His sibling is being raised by a Rose comb Nankin pair:

The mille fleur pair raised last year's 1st place Ohio National Crevecoeur cockerel and his sibs, plus a white easter-egger. You can see how gentle the roo is, and lets the chick feel daddy's comb with his beak:

I don't have good show pictures this year, no shows!

I believe I’ve seen photos of that bird!! And you are right, she almost didn’t look like a real chicken, absolutely beautiful. I raise porcelain and Mille Fleur, but I breed blue d’Uccles originally from Michelle sepiols line, she got me hooked on them:love
Since you were at the show in bath NY, can I assume you live on the east coast as well? :)
No, I drive to Bath, NY from the Saint Louis, Missouri area. It's worth it for the amazing trip, beautiful scenery, and fantastic duck judges, who explain every step of the judging...I have learned so much from these shows! Not like our local judges, who lock off the row while they are judging and want to keep everything a deep dark secret. (Can you tell that I started with showing rabbits?)
