CALLING ALL BARN CAT OWNERS! 🐱TOUGH FLUFF!🐱

So many tuxedos! This is mine, Socks. His dad was pure wild and a splitting image. We've moved since he was born and he was the easiest to adjust to the new surroundings. He's fantastic for snakes (which has come in handy living on a constantly flowing creek) and keeping Trevor (the new places king ferral) mostly at bay.

Trevor likes to catch chickens, quail, basicly anything in a cage he thinks is put out especially for him :he. I don't have a pic of him, but he is a full tabby, and would make a lovely winters hat!
Next up is King. He is our ball full of sass! His hunting habits include, tripping over small children and running off with their snacks. Sitting at the door at dinner time waiting for snacks, and catching wasps, hornets and spiders. Anything small with lots of legs or wings and venomous.

And now for my pride and Joy, Chloe. Chloe is Socks mum (yes she's neutered now) and she is the gun hunter. She won't share her rabbits with me but loves to bring me mice and grass hoppers. She is basicly a house cat right now, but thats because this old farm house has as many rodents as a barn :sick. Some holes we just can't get to and block. Chloe is a tabby with orange tabby spots.

She was given to me in exchange for some garden work by a friend. She was such a small kitten, we weren't actually sure if she'd make it.
Unbeknownst to me, she went into heat and had...

And then, we found Ted in the field...

Everyone's fixed, except Ted cause he's a sneaky little fart.

They are all so sweet! Shadow is a tiny one to. She weighs between 6-8 pounds. She’s so tiny that when she gains all her extra weight in the winter (from less exercise, more sulking on the couch) we once thought she was pregnant because of the dramatic difference in size we had never seen in her before :lau

anyway Digit is adorable! One of Shadows sisters comes by sometimes, and she looks a lot like that cat, only with a darker shade of orange.

Digit is about 8lbs and her two boys are 15 each. You'd never guess those behemoths were produced by such a dainty little princess!

You wouldn’t! My two house cats are each about 14 pounds each (those two are siblings) and Shadow weighs closest to 7 so she’s exactly half of them!

to solve your tick problem, I have a glorious solution that IS SORCERY- Shadow wears the Seresto Tick collar, and I couldn’t even explain you how well it works! In 4 years Shadow has come home with absolutely 0 ticks attached to her. That’s crazy considering the fact that as humans, who aren’t out in the woods quite as often, we get 4-5 ticks every time we do go out there. She never has ANY! It works for fleas to, so if your like us and you have those stray cats around, it’s a blessing. I know it’s expensive but hear me out-it’s worth every penny! If your thinking about throwing the money away, here’s a link to it https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/seresto-flea-and-tick-collar-for-cats

Thanks for the tip!

Hey everybody, does anyone have some tips on introducing slightly older cats to chickens? We’ve got some abandoned barn cats that we’ve been feeding and are talking about bringing a couple home. I don’t know exactly how old they are, but I think they were born early this summer. They grew up around chickens, but not free range like ours. They’re skittish but slowly warming up to us since we started feeding them. Is it even a good idea to take them?
