CALLING ALL BARN CAT OWNERS! 🐱TOUGH FLUFF!🐱

So true!
I've found time to play video games / read books again as I've made it apart of my daily responsibilities to bring a can of wet food out and sit there for about an hour or so. I try to keep it around the same time every day so we have more of a routine going, but they're still shocked to see me every time.
I eventually want to snag my favorite cat carrier back from them, but it's Grace's favorite place currently.
yes! im sure they will warm to you soon enough. Some ferals never do, but i think spending time with them and letting them safe will let them know they can come to you and will be okay with you petting them. Probably wont turn out to be lap cats, but who knows!

This is Ralph, who is actually a girl. I have three indoor/outdoor kitties, and Ralph is the fourth kitty and outside full time. When I bought the house a year ago, the owner was in his final stages of life. He asked if it was okay to leave the cat and of course I said yes. She’s such a good mouser, and has never touched any of the broody’s babies. She now has a box with a heating pad in it. The heating pad is at a comfy 80 degrees for our harsh winters. Sometimes if I leave the door open she will sneak in and say hi, but never for more than a few moments. We keep trying to tell her we have more comfy places inside, but for Ralph, the outside world is where she is most comfortable.

Ralph is so pretty! a russian blue right? Or just a cat that looks like one. My great grandmother had a Russian Blue, and i remeber him so clearly even though he passed away when i was still really young. My great grandmother, had her front door open one day in the heat of the summer, and a female cat came and just walked right in with her two babies! My great grandmother kept the smallest of the babies. We think the mother cat belonged to a neighbor, and the mother wanted a quiet place away from the other cats they had. So my great grandmother raised this cat, Blue Boy, until she passed away and my grandmother brought him home. He passed away one night and lived a full life to the age of 13 i believe.

Anyway, he likes the heating pad huh? We recieved a christmas gift from someone one year. A heated dog bed for our dog. The dog hated it so one of our inside cats, Peanut, adopted it. Hes in it all the time and he loves it! Shadow, our barn cat, is a complete inside-outside cat. the best of both worlds, and she loves it! She recently adopted a cardboard box on the kitchen counter, so you can find her in it if she is ever inside lol

Yes the heating pad is actually for seed starting! But also good for cat warming haha.

This is Oreo! Oreo has survived falling out of a moving truck about a mile down the road from our house. We went back two days later to call his name, and found him!!! He also took a ride all the way into town one day, about a 25-30 minute drive, under the truck! My husband went into a restaurant to eat breakfast, came out of the restaurant, and Oreo was there by the truck!! How he didn’t take off after the truck stopped, I have no idea!! Guess he knew he needed to come home! Needless to say, he’s meant to be here as our very spoiled farm cat!

This is Leonard who has unfortunately not been seen for a couple months. He was getting on for an outside cat and we think he may have gone off on his own to die :(

This cat who should be catching mice is more interested in keeping her spot! Horse or no horse!
That’s hilarious  Shadow is afraid of horses In every way (also chickens!) but sometimes she’ll test her bravery by going up the fence line and get real close until they’re a little to close and there’s a horse muzzle checking her out:lol:
