the 40 dx fits 48 but I stacked haha

All of you who are stacking - can you show a photos? I want to stack in my 20 as I want to set more eggs than it is meant for....figuring after day 7, I will toss out any that aren't progressing (my roo covers 17 hens, so I'm anticipating low fertility).

Thanks!!

Thanks! Does the wax paper keep them in place well?

Your name should be "Chicken Stacker"

yep just a wad between the top and the stacked eggs. do a couple tip tests and you're good to go. Just takes a little practice. I don't usually stack in the late spring and summer because then I usually have close to 100% development.

ok, I'm in!

I just set my 24 chicken eggs in my BRAND SPANKIN NEW Brinsea ECO 20.

I have a dozen Black Australorp and the rest are Heritage Delaware, Buff Orpington and a couple Barred Rock.

DUE FEB 25

I just got the Brinsea in the mail on Feb 2nd and set it up immediately. Ran it for a couple days while waiting for my birds to lay 24 eggs (took 2 days) then set the eggs.

I am manual turning the machine.

I'm just waiting the long wait now... I took the digital out cuz it was driving me crazy, but the glass one is really steady... I'm due the 22nd so I can't wait to little little fuzzbutts!!!

Not sure how bubble wrap is going to work out. Just remeber the egg needs to breath. I use a wad of wax paper between the top on the egg and bator lid.....kind cinches down on it so it doesn't move. I also tilt the bator a few times to make sure. Hope all goes better.

loose bubble wrap just enough to wedge them? I hope!!!

I learned skills from chickenstalker LOL! The key is to use the wadded waxpaper or bubble wrap or whatever to hold the eggs still using the lid as a pressure point too. Like you make a wad of paper that when the lid is put on it holds the eggs in place. It worked for me.

My hatch is officially over.
It was so fun!
here is a group shot.
