I hate to say it but I can't wait until we don't have cats anymore. My cat at least has some brains to him, my husbands cat is a complete moron at the best of times. Well, I guess all I can do now is keep my fingers crossed for the itty bitties. And buy a bullet. I wish. Hope your siamese is better behaved than mine.

Well, my first hatch is completed.

Other than the stupid cat, my Brinsea did wonderfully with a hatch rate of 83%.

One egg pipped on the small end of the egg and die about 2 days ago, the other I have float tested and it isn't moving but I still haven't opened that one up yet. Of the 10 chicks that hatched 1 died (dang cat), 2 look like they may need to be culled (again dang cat) but the other 7 are doing really well considering they were knocked off the counter and onto the floor this morning. 5 are in the brooder all nice and dry, the other 2 are still in the incubator with the two questionables drying off.

Lesson learned: Put the Mini in a room with a door next time. Or shoot the cats.

I think I'm done still have 18 eggs out of 48 still in the bator but its not looking good. So, I have 29 biddies & one that died. I need 25 pullets for my new coop no roo. Guess, I'll be hatching again. I learned alot so next hatch should be better not that I'm complaining. I will admit that I had the bator at 103 the first 8 days.

It's been fun keeping up with everyone hatching eggs in their Brinsea. I ordered one from Amazon, an Eco20 and it arrived yesterday. It will take me a while to collect eggs from the Brabanters to give it a go

we had our first hatch last night, a lovely call duck. my son got a brisnea mini advance from santa, so big excitment. Sorry I haven't figured out how to upload photos to message yet...
