The second egg to pip this morning hatched about 45 minutes ago: Here is the first chick I've ever hatched....a black copper maran baby....

The poor baby wants outa that thing (brooder is warm and waiting)...but baby number two (Easter Egger) has just started zipping its way out, so he/she is just going to have to wait a bit.

How much longer do you have to wait....do you have a "due date"?

If you look really close, towards the top of the egg, you can see my baby!! Midnight tonight will be day 7. ( my photo skills are lacking I know)

3 pips last night, still 3 pips this morning......peeping, but not much else going on. Maybe when I come home from work tonight there will be action.

Got up at 3 am nothing. Got back up again to go out to the coop at 7am & the bator was on little biddies chirpping crawling all over the eggs. I have 48 eggs in there. It's hard to see in there because of the black lines all over the top. I have the 40 dx. I counted atleast 4 out one looked bad but I'm gonna wait cause I'm a rookie at this I hope she's ok. Gotta go my new family is calling. I did name I'm guessing the first one Brinsea. Yee haw . Keep sending prayers to the biddies & me I'm gonna need some as well. Very exciting.
