Calling all Penedesencas Owners/Breeders

Have you looked into Our Fly Babies? I have three pullets and a cockerel that I hatched from eggs they shipped to me.

I tried to reach them and left messages on their website and voicemail. I think later I heard from them but I had enough chickens by then. Thinking back didn't someone have problems getting mixed birds too. There is a thread on here for them, isn't there?

I have not had great success with hatching shipped pene eggs. This was my second attempt and I got 1 out of 7. The first time I only got 1 out of 12 (eggs from MPC). I am more comfortable with simply going with live chicks. If they don't make it they refund or replace. Eggs? MPC offered 1/2 price on next order of eggs.

I hadn't heard of H and H either but I did ask the ebay seller where his original stock came from and he said H and H. I saw Sandhill too. I currently only have one mature partridge hen and she came from MPC. I plan to get more birds from Meyer next year but I was hopeful these would be nice too.
With so few birds in the country, my recommendation is to stay away from hatcheries and get stock from the handful of breeders. Some of the breeders' birds may be crossed as well but at least they're working to sort things out.
I'll bet the hatcheries don't even know the European standards, nor are working towards them.
Hopefully we'll have a list of breeders available soon.

I is not clear to me that Our Fly Babies is a Hatchery. They do not have many breeds and seem to be more like a little Breeder set up.

Urch has a lot more breeds--along with Horstman. Are they Breeders or a Hatchery?

The PPs seem to be very nice and true to form.

So what do you think of our new "partridge penedesenca"? I have named it Woody Nickel aka "Niki"... not sure if it is cockerel or pullet... guess it doesn't matter.

The white one in the middle is a Wheaten Penedesenca. The others are partridge Penes. The gray one on the left is the Cockerel Partridge Pene.

So gentleman and lady penedesenca breeders do you think I have a case that the above pictured bird is not a partridge penedesenca? I am considering opening a case on Ebay since I haven't heard back from the egg seller about my concerns with it's feathered feet or coloring. The partridge pene chicks I've had before were kind of chipmunk colored, like a Welsummer. Has anyone had partridge penes that looked like mine that grew up to look fine?

The feathered legs are a problem to me. Penes don't have feathered legs.
Deviant feathers are an ongoing problem. I raise only blacks but occasionally get a chipmunk in a hatch. The chipmunks grow up to have a lot of copper feathers. Don't have experience with your varieties.
