This is from a 2010 post:Good size run Jason. I need to get busy making another run/coop. Bought the wood but then the dogs killed 1/2 the flock so didn't need to build it.
The crele you sent is developing well. My wife says he purrs. Which is cool because I think my kids wanted me to get them a cat for Christmas. That's not happening. ;-) What do we need a cat for when we have a purring chicken. One of my daughter's asked what do we do with him once he gets older. I think she means when he begins crowing. My neighbor's pitbull will have company filling the night with noise I guess.
I asked for an incubator for Christmas so might be of mind to get some more crele from my friend in CA....
I have some partridge penes ordered from Meyer. Does Meyer get their's from Gabbard like MPC does? Would like to sometime qualify in being a breeder of penes.

I just purchased Partridge Penedesenca chicks from Meyer's, the first Hatch Date, I ordered 6 and got 5 from the eggs they hatched. I asked about the birds, they told me none of the birds are there, they purchase eggs in a 750 mile radius, and more than likely mine were from Amish. The only birds that are there are the Owners Own Personal Flock was what I was told, if I saw any birds in the yard, which I didn't see any.
Meyers has a very nice Store, I was impressed with what they did carry for birds. It was like a Tractor Supply Store with Chicken Items Only.
Just a bunch of cranky people over there for the most partI did it again. I got a rebuke from the Heritage thread because I suggested that Black Penedesenca would be a good Small Dual purpose breed.
I was told it was not Heritage because it was not in the American SOP so I suppose it should not have been mentioned as a possibility? You can show them here. Just provide the judge with a copy of the Spanish standard.
Black is in the Spanish SOP and has been since 1946. It sounds very Heritage to me and still a gook Small Dual Purpose Large Fowl.
Some people are Odd I suppose.
Yes I know! It is also heavily Moderated.Just a bunch of cranky people over there for the most part
