Calling all Penedesencas Owners/Breeders

I got the same comment from the American Livestock Breed Conservancy a couple years ago. They were only interested in saving birds in the US at the turn of the last century.
They do now list Penedesenca on their breed selection chart.

That is good news!

1946 is too early for a breed? Ameraucanas have only been around since the 1970s and are accepted here. I guess the Heritage folks stop with Delawares?

I have two Kittle RIRs in with my Penes. They all get a long very nicely together too.

I have a bit of frostbite on my Crele rooster.
The younger smaller combed crele rooster , black penedesenca and 2 white empordanesa have nothing.

The younger crele's comb is still very small and he was hard to reach so I did nothing with his but
the rest I rubbed there combs with Vetrex,
I really rubbed the crele boys down good and got his wattles.
I am sure he will be fine

I am not going to be hatching anything till closer till spring. I don't want to chance a power outage though at least I have a Generator now.
It made it up to 33 today for about a hour lol

One of the pullets in my Pene pen Started laying eggs last week. They may be two of them now. One of them has figured out how to roll the eggs out a little space in the run. I found two eggs back there today and another buried in their dust bat hole.

Sneaky little things right?
