He is chunky. He's not too over weight but getting close. I have to watch him close. I don't buy treats but someone likes to sneak him food.

My neighbor now knows what I think. I texted to ask him if bandit was over there and that I didn't think the dog I had was him because it was too fat. In my defense, usually a few months goes in between me seeing this dog, and he had recently been to the groomers so his fur was very short.

So I found and ordered 25# bag of oxbow from chewy and put it on 4 week autoship so I don’t have to worry about running out again they also had a premium Timothy hay for 30% off through today that I may order. I saw that kalmbach offers a complete guinea pig food in 50# bags that i was tempted to order but I was afraid they might not like it and then I’d be stuck with it.

Because he's a Rex and their undercoat and guard hairs are the same length which makes them super soft.

So I believe is homozygous for 'r.'

I believe normal fur has a shorter undercoat with longer guard hairs. But rex fur causes all the fur to be the same length, resulting in a softer feel.

Negative. Rexes are soft but their coat is short. You can feel the rabbit underneath. Chinchillas are like like the memory of what a cloud must feel like. Their coats are longer and they don't weigh a thing. They are most adorable and so soft. (And sooooo superior to lagomorphs...)

These were pretty cute too. Even if they were a pita to take care of.
