Cameo or Peach?

hurray the cavalry! (I suppose I should think of something aviation related, but brain is slow today)
Taupe, that make a lot of sense, but gosh I've never seen a taupe bird.
Could it be spontaneous? Q8 is a long way from the states, have those made it overseas? How interesting!
They came by plane, most peafowls shipped after they molt their trains, mine came in large dog crates, 2 birds will fit in each crate.

But how they could be taupe?! The person I got my birds from don't have any taupe, there are maybe only 2 breeders have taupes in Kuwait.

Look at this hen from Leggs site! It look a lot like mine.

Now look at this hen from this site http://www.jepo-paafugle.com/, Its really looks like mine

Reading the history of Taupe on Legg's site, it states the first ones appeared spontaneously in a mating between a Blue male and Purple hen. If the person you got them from had blues and purples, it should be possible for it to happen again. It also says the Taupes are big healthy birds, didn't you say these girls are big?

Q8, do you have some sort of good luck like this regularly? My heavens, if those birds are taupe (or even just the hen), you've solidly hit the jackpot twice this year, at least!

I can see how it could happen, hypothetically, if there are breeders there in Kuwait with taupe peafowl already. I something like think this was discussed on another thread recently. If the birds were bred to other (non-taupe) birds, the resulting chicks would not necessarily show the color, and might have been sold as IB or something else, maybe white, which concealed the taupe. Then, when recombined, the taupe shows back up and the buyer/new breeder is left trying to guess what these oddly colored birds are...

I definitely don't know enough to say what the hen is, but wow, wouldn't that be something?

That's another possibility, too! Apparently it happened for them at least twice, from the article.

So if those birds (or at least the hen) are in fact taupe, I retract my earlier suggestion about putting a white cameo bird with them

Actually, I think you should take another good look at the male and see whether he also looks taupe, or figure out what color he is, and then revisit the whole "what do I add to these birds" scenario. I still think that if you can add a white hen that came from a silver pied breeding (but came out white), you might get very interesting results.

Hmmm, is he a taupe pied WE???? I'm still trying to figure out if those were actually white feathers blotched on the back of that bird, or just light tan (TAUPE?

) ones???

Just amazing.

As I know taupe peafowl came to Kuwait recently, i don't think they were here before 3 years.

I purchased these hens in Jan, 2014 so its almost a year now, and the seller told me they were almost 3 years at that time, so maybe they were from 2011 hatch or 2010. At that time i don't think they were taupe birds in Kuwait.

By the way i only have two hens, don't have a male at the moment, i have india blue male split peach since i thought these were peach
