Cameo or Peach?

So if those birds (or at least the hen) are in fact taupe, I retract my earlier suggestion about putting a white cameo bird with them

Actually, I think you should take another good look at the male and see whether he also looks taupe, or figure out what color he is, and then revisit the whole "what do I add to these birds" scenario. I still think that if you can add a white hen that came from a silver pied breeding (but came out white), you might get very interesting results.

Hmmm, is he a taupe pied WE???? I'm still trying to figure out if those were actually white feathers blotched on the back of that bird, or just light tan (TAUPE?

) ones???

Just amazing.

Oh no, those were totally different birds, the cameo pied male is cameo no doubt on this. These taupe hens(if we agreed they are taupe!) are different, they are paired with india blue w/e split peach male.

Rats, I'm getting your birds confused. I am meaning to refer to that male bird that had the white blotches on his back (looked to be WE), standing behind the taupe (?) hen in the middle photo of the three that you posted, the second time you posted pictures of them. Is that the same male as from the first two photos?

If I have made this more confusing, I'll go back up the thread and find the photo... sorry, my fault for losing track

You mean this pair, right? These are cameo bs pied w/e, these are totally different birds, they are cameo indeed.

I doubt they are taupe, and legg's description of how "they came to be" is too vague, it was a deliberate breeding to get taupe. I have cameo charcoal hens, (two copies charcoal, one copy cameo, and those hens you have are closer to that than taupe. I will add more, but given your location, and the scarcity, I would guess opal based, but possibly out of cameo.

They are not Cameo Charcoal. Pretty certain of that. I doubt your Opal guess is far off!
