Bought call duck that are 16 wks old. put water in the coop for them and are drinking like crazy. they were sent in the mail over night. is it possible for them to drink to much?

Yes they can drink too much. Let them have a little and then take it away, then wait a few min. until the swallow it down and walk around, then give some more. Don't leave them unattended with the water until they have calmed down.

They could be dehydrated, thus wicked thirsty.

They may drink and drink until the thirst goes away- you may notice lots of watery stool from drinking so much- sort of liek if you ever give a chicken a watermellon to eat....

You could put vitamins/electrolytes in their water which will keep their electrolytes in check until they get properly hydrated again.

If you SERIOUSLY think they may float away or get sick from so much water offer it for a minute then take it away then offer it agian in a few minutes so at least they arent drinking a gallon all at once.....
