can a pig live with chickens?

Oops, if they're not supposed to be together, I'd better tell Mouse, my 200# pig, and Big Sweetie, my Llama, and my two pygmy goats, that they are not supposed to be in the same yard! Bad pets!

I think it depends on the situation - a pig will compete for food, more than one pig, serious issues. My chickens waaayyy outnumber my pig, and he was raised with them.

We have 4 pigs. They almost killed one of my chickens the other day. It was terrible. I wouldn't trust a pig as far as I can throw it. They are ravenous beasts.

We have pygmy goats in with our chickens. They like to occasionally head butt the silkies but they dont actually try to hurt them.

I have a 400 pund Yorkshire hog and I am sure she would eat my chickens, given the chance. I was once told by a friend that the chickens learned to leave his pig pen alone because the pig enjoyed taking off the heads when they poked them into the pen.

This is strange, my friend Freebie had pigs in the past and none of her sows bothered the chickens, they (the chickens) were always in the pig pen and some even roosted with them in the barn. None of her pigs ate any of her birds.

Wow!! I had forgotten about that Mary. Those chickens would just fly in and out of the coop whenever they wanted. And when the coon got some of my chickens, the only one I found was in the pig pen. As far as I can tell, the pigs did not hurt that little chick at all. I don't know if I would recommend it.

I have 2 potbelly males Wilbur & Templeton, they have their own area to sleep but the chickens jump in and out and steal their food when ever I feed. My one rooster stands on Wilbur's back and Wilbur thinks he's getting a back massage! I even find him sleeping in their dog house with them. They have never tried to hurt the chickens, but will eat the eggs and love chicken food. I let them all out in the pasture together with the horses and emus and they have a grand old time together. Besides the once in awhile excited "chicken bowling" when I first let them out of the pen, they leave the chickens alone. They will lay with them in the shade and the only thing I've ever worried about was them rolling on one. Wilbur is about 2 years old and Tempy is about 8 months, so the've grown up with them.
