Can Fermented Feed Sit Out?

I’ve never used fermented feed before. If I feed it to my chickens, and there is some left over, how long can it sit out before going bad?

I've left a small amount out overnight and it was fine.
But shoot for having the bowl empty by the end of the day.

If it's anything like sourdough (and by my understanding, they operate on basically an identical concept), give it the smell test.

*If it smells like a bakery, time to chow down!
*If it smells like a brewery, add some more feed, the good bacteria are hungry.
*If it smells bad, time for it to meet the compost pile.
