We let our 2 week old chicks out when the weather was better and even built a little pin area next to the adult chickens so they could met

Lol its ok do you guys think its ok to bring the older ones outside a little bit each day
Make sure you have containment since they wont yet know where safety is to run to, and give them a cardboard box to huddle in and have cover/ safety. I take mine out as young as 3 days, temp close to 50 with no heavy winds. Slight breeze is OK. Sooner is better IMO. Mostly sun but with some shade, or even solid cloud cover if it isn't windy.

At first keep it short, so they can build some immunity to what's in the ground. Say an hour for the first few days. Or you can also bring a dish or a plug of grass (roots and all) in for them for the first couple days.

I would still avoid treats yet though. They will enjoy what they get out of the dirt and it also will serve as grit.

You sound like you're prepared! Contrary to popular belief , our chicks have been off a heat lamp since week 2 and our basement stays at about 55. You're lucky with 65 degs outside haha we're hoping for 65 by June or so minus the random warm days. Have fun taking them out

You won't have to worry about that...

get any container that you take a treat out in (same one every time), give it a little rattle and say something like "here chicky chicky" and they will be swarming every time they see your silhouette in the patio door even when you don't have the treat! Or when you are ready for them to go in the coop for lock up at night, toss the treat in and lock up. Usually just a week of training where to go (by herding them) is enough for them to put themselves up every evening.

Weather sounds perfect today.
