Can I scream please! NEW Update pg 6 post51 pg 7 post 67 **PICS**

Seems to me the PD has come up with a BRILLIANT plan.......

I mean all they have to do is set a trap in public. Once they catch a dog they know someone like you will come along and give it a home. No muss, little fuss and they don't have to spend the money on a shot or gas to put it down.

I do not find it very funny that the PD would allow a dog to stay in a cage for 3 day's without food, water, or shelter. I don't give a dang if they have a "brilliant plan". That is so cruel. I am very proud that I love animals as much as I do. I only wish there were more like me

Well, I have a new update on "Jake"......the owner's of the place he was staying, told me about 5 day's ago that Jake went missing. They said he got out of the yard and had been gone for about 3 weeks. Now me knowing the type of people they are didn't believe it. I figured that he/she/they had taken him to the pound or took him down the road (which is actually what I think happened because Jake came back) and droped him off. Neway.....about 5 day's ago, Jake show's up at the house. He is alittle banged up, but none the less fine. I figured he was fighting over a "woman". Well he must have won that fight because "Bella" came home with him

My children have named them both!! I am pretty sure that "Bella" just came out of heat because she is pretty swollen on her hind end

Jake is a very smart dog.....he already knows how to open the latch on my gate to the backyard... Bella is just lazy, lol. They are both wonderful with my kids and the rest of the pets. Now the chickens.....well I haven't tried them yet. I think we still have a while before that happens. I am also very excited to say that "Bella" has an appointment Aug 5th to be spayed. I called the vet clinic and was able to get a Low cost Spay/neuter Voucher.....WOOHOO!!! SO, even if I decided to rehome her, I do not have to worry about her having babies! I will have to wait on Jake. I can only do one at a time. I am working on some pics.

Well, Jake sure knows where he prefers to get his kibbles. And knows it's such a great place, that he brings his lady Bella with him!

Looks like he's intent on you being his people. Congrats on being his favorite. (And you know that dogs are always right about people.)

Glad they found you! Thank you for getting her spayed!!! It is so sad to see the vast amounts of unwanted dogs already (you know!). Good luck in all you do!

I would imagine you should call the DNR (department of natural resources)
In my state it is illegal for an animal to be left in a trap for more than 24 hours without food or water. I would call them to report it.

Why not go to the local PD/Town Officials and offer to be their animal control officer? there really isnt a lot of training or Schooling needed.
just your time collecting and dropping off animals.
That way you know the animals are treated and taken care of properly.
Of course all costs would come from your own pocket, for such as kennels, food, vetting, etc.
Make a difference be an Animal control officer, there for freeing the police up to do their jobs or their laziness.

Quick update: Today was the day for Bella to get spayed. I am happy to say that she had the surgery and is recovering nicely

I will be able to pick her up in the morning and bring her home

Atleast I know there will not be any babies from her.

I am very proud of you and your family. I know how hard it is, financially and emotionally, to rescue dogs. We have 4 currently and have saved over a dozen over the years. My neighbor has saved about the same and currently has 7 of her own. If only we could teach others how to care for their own like they are their own. No one would ever let their kid out at the end of some dead end road but it takes less than second for some people to decide that is the only way to get rid of their dog or cat.
Burns me up.
