I have three mallards (that I have had for two days) and they let met pick them up but they often run away from me too. I want them to be more domesticated, will they ever be not so scared.

Give them lots of treats to let them now you’re perfectly safe. Spending time with them everyday will also help them get used to you. A good goal would be to get them up to the point where you can easily hand feed them. It will take time, because with ducks you must gain their trust.

Right now they will rarely let me feed them. It is hard to tell if they are even eating. Do you know how I could get them to eat their food more?

What are you feeding them? Could you try putting some treats on top of their food, like some peas?

I had two mallards and one night I actually let them sleep with us in our bed(YUCK, right?)because I thought that they had a cold or something and we wanted them to be warm. After that i was a mamma to them. They literally followed me everywhere. I think that just spending TONS of time with them really helps. When they were bigger they did get kind of difficult. They were hard to catch, but if you just keep them around humans a ton they might turn out okay. BEWARE! I had a male and he was really mean. He bit me A LOT!!! Don't stress though, yours might turn out okay.:)

What do you think made him so mean?

They also might be a little stressed if you just got them so don't freak out if they aren't eating a ton. How old are they if you don't mind me asking?
