Can Pullets Get Eggbound? Help plz

I spoke to a friend about your pullet.....I for one never pay so much attention to my hens/pullets laying...She figures being its her first egg it is just taking her that much longer to lay...She hopes by putting your finger in their you did not do more damage than good? Roosters have no penis so that is not how their anatomy works...
Moving her might be stressing her and prolonging the actual egg to come out??

Keep me posted....I really hope it all works out!

I was very gentle with the exam as I had to do it with another hen this spring and I didn't poke and prod ;) I hope i didn't hurt her also, but I felt like it was import to make sure there wasn't an egg inside because I thought I felt one from the outside.
I wonder though, if it was just that she hadn't laid the egg yet what that liquid was that came out? And why she's acting like she didn't feel well and not eating? Weird. But being a pullet who knows? ;) H
Did your friend say how long it can take pullets to lay it and at what point do you become concerned?

Her rearend (and the liquid that came out) smells a little like ammonia which is weird and not normal?

Yeah....Some can act weird for 24 hours before they lay the egg...She said and reminded me of my one hen last year that laid around all day last year and I found the egg in her sand/ dust bath....Give her time...I hope it works out!!

She does appear to be straining with her tail down like that...When ready the tail pops up and out comes the egg....
It could be a big egg trying to pass? or a Pullet egg that is small??
Leave her for a few hours in the darkness and see what happens later??
She might be getting stressed out from all the interference.?
Hard not to keep looking but give sometime...
