I wanted to get a Rooster from my flock of Black Copper Marans, to get some different genetics and not have brothers breeding with sisters ect. Someone gave me this rooster when he was younger and he definitely had the colors, but now I am noticing he does not have the feathers on his legs. Is there another breed that looks similar or do some copper marans not have feathers?

You'll find clean legged BCMs often because the standards in Britain call for clean legged birds. I am not sure this guy would be a great rooster to use for breeding BCMs, though. His color is dark and he seems small and a little off in type as well. So he could be a BCM mix or some other mix. You could try and see what his offspring look like and the color of their eggs, but that will be a time consuming process. If I were you I'd spend the money for a good quality BCM rooster known to be pure from a flock that lays dark eggs because I wouldn't want to take the chance of him producing inferior chick and have to start over.

American Marans are clean-legged, however, Black Copper Marans adopted the French standard, so they should be feather-legged...

That being said, many BCM only have 1 feather-leg gene instead of 2 like they should, thus clean-legged happen... if breeding towards the standard, I wouldn't use him, sorry... still a gorgeous bird...
