So if you look at their tail feathers roosters are said to have a more dagger like shape where hens are more rounded off. Not necessarily, after 12-14 weeks, you can look at the saddles (side of tail) and hackle (neck) area to see whether those feathers are long and pointed (male) or short and round (female), hens have have male looking tails sometimes.So if you look at their tail feathers roosters are said to have a more dagger like shape where hens are more rounded off.
