Most of mine with red neck rings like that ended up being male. The rings around the neck will turn black though. I can’t say for sure because I don’t know your bloodlines well, but I’ve bred a pearl male with the red neck like that (it turned black before it was making foam) to a group that included scarlets, and it produced some male and female full roux chicks, which means he carried roux. Hens can’t carry roux without showing it, so only crossing a roux or roux carrier to the scarlets would have made any roux males. This has led me to assume that the ones I have that show heavy red at the neck like that, are male roux carriers.So far about half of my pansy hatch looks like this. Does this look male?
