New member checking in from the Kootenays in BC. Have my first chicks on order, will arrive on the 17th.

Currently making the brooder and reading chicken about 6 hrs a day, lol.

Silver Gray Dorkings look really cool! How long have you had them? Do you keep them mainly as layers - or utilize their dual purpose potential? Do you have a roo in your lot? Any pics??

I had them in the UK and used them for both, Just got them 6 months ago in NS and will again use them for both. I have a Roo so I hope to extend the flock.
My problem will probably be keeping up for the demand for them locally.

That's awesome! I can only imagine the demand. I would look at them here if any were available...but I've yet to see any advertised in BC. I would love to see pics of your flock when you can! So cool!

Ok glad you met him, nice young man. When we get together to talk chickens we can blow off an 1/2 hour easy. I am going to try to make the show but I think it will be my Saturday to work as I work every other, will see if someone will switch with me!!
