Government has gotten so big that oversight is impossible. It needs serious downsizing. Unfortunately, it is a self perpetuating beast. Most of it should be scrapped before anything new is added.

Actually, for you to claim that I said that because it's wrong to murder, cap and trade should be accepted is a classic strawman argument. You literally couldn't have concocted a better example.

Just for the sake of clarity, a strawman is where you say something like "Oh, so you're saying...." to set up the strawman, and then proceed to knock the strawman down by attacking the words you just put in someone else's mouth..

Like you proceed to do...

...right here.

If you want to debate, let's debate.

Let's debate on things we actually say to one another, though...not what we wish the other had said that would have made the debate easier for us.

Taxing is not regulation it is a means to collect more revenue from the public, who WILL be the ones to pay for cap and trade NOT corporations.

Unfortunately, to a degree, taxes are a necessary evil. Roads and similar infrastructure, as well as the military and public schools, should be funded by taxes. I also believe a system like WIC is a necessity and am willing to put a few of my tax dollars towards research.

But paying millionaires not to grow crops? 50+ member police forces in towns with a population of 5000? 'Studies' redone every year on the best location for a bridge that never gets built? Corporate subsidies? Public museums that spend $50,000 on a piece of artwork that consisted of someone putting glue on a piece of construction paper and emptying a vacuum cleaner bag over it? Another $5,000,000 on planes and missiles that were obsolete a decade ago?

Blah.
