The arrow slammed into Chip's back and the young bandit sprawled forward, loosing his grip on his sword and the weapon went spinning into the undergrowth. "Ahhggghhhh!" Chip let out a pained cry, now laying out in the open.

Merek swore out loud and broke into a sprint toward the archer, determined to make it to her before she could riddle Chip with another arrow.

Raven had turned her attention to Alger when she heard the curse from behind her. She turned and tried to locate the source of the sound in the fading light from the stone. It's energy was depleting quickly under the full power of the light showing. She muttered and elvish phrase and dropped down to the lower level of branches and started to backtrack, pulling her bow forward and setting another arrow.

With Pike safely across, Linden gathered Mavis and Maple and crouched down beside Terrick. His friend looked in rough shape, and he knew they needed to find better shelter than where they were currently sitting beside the water. The bandits could cross the path as easily as any of them. "Come on," he held his hand out to Terrick, intending to assist the man to his feet. "We need to get inside the house."

Terrick lay on the grass on the far side of the secret bridge, his eyes closed, face ashen. Blood had already saturated the makeshift bandage around his leg and dripped slowly onto the ground.

"Come on," someone was prodding him urgently. "We need to get inside the house."

Terrick's eyes cracked opened, memory of their current situation returning a bit slowly. He pushed himself to his hands and knees, fighting against a wave of dizziness, not quite sure where they were. "Linden..." he said, reaching a hand up to let the other man help him up. Despite his rough condition, his grip remained strong and he seemed to be able to support at least half his own weight. "Where's ... Raven?"

Almost unthinking, Algar rushed forward and grabbed Chip, trying to pull him out of the light. Meanwhile, Merek was closing in on the elf's position and saw her silhouette drop to a lower branch, well within striking distance. He lunged toward her, intending to grab her leg and pull her down from the tree.

"Holding off the bandits for us," he replied, although he wasn't sure exactly where she was. The last thing he had heard was the arrow striking Chip and figured that she was handling herself for now. With one arm he supported the other half of Terrick's weight, and with the other led Mavis and Maple into the house. It was very dark inside, but he managed to find what felt like a small bed or cot. "Lie down..." He told Terrick. "I'll find something else to wrap around your leg."

Raven felt her leg be grabbed and had to drop her bow to grab onto the branch to keep from being pulled down. Using her arms to hold her up, she kicked out with her free leg, trying to hit whoever was holding her. " Realese me." She said, unintentionally speaking in her native tounge

(Gotta say, this is turning out to be a pretty cool final(?) showdown. Also, Final Mission Showdown Themesong...
)

"I got the archer!" Merek called out loudly as the bow fell down past him. "Get ac..." his words broke off as Raven's foot connected with his mouth. But he didn't let go of her leg and reached up with his other hand, trying to catch her free foot.

Algar's hand tightened into a fist as he got Chip out of the light only to realize the young bandit had already suffocated on his own blood. He picked up the axe that was beside him that he had used to chop through the door and strode toward the secret bridge. "You savages!" he cried, letting rage and anger overtake him as fear for his own life fled and he thought only of revenge.

...everything is awesome!!)

A cold shudder passed through Linden's body as he heard Algar screech the word 'savages' across the watery bridge. It sounded desperate and overflowing with unimaginable rage. He scrambled to bar the door of Raven's house shut, searching for anything that would prove useful in making a barrier. Without a light stone of his own the house was nearly as dark as the cave, with only thin streaks of moonlight streaming in through the windows. Any furniture that could be moved, he did--right in front of the door. Hopefully Raven would be able to find shelter outside, she knew this island better than any of them.

"Mavis, Maple," he hissed, directing them to hide under the table next to the cot Terrick was lying on. Using the house as a makeshift 'safehouse' he was determined not to let any of the bandits through the door without having to kill him first, and hopefully it didn't come to that. He knew he wouldn't be much use in hand to hand combat, especially against someone like Algar.

Raven pulled her free leg upand quickly kicked out again while pulling herself up. She was trying to get her leg free from his grip. "leitha amin" She heard Alger and saw him heading for the bridge and frowned.
