~*Carolina Chickenstock 2011*~

It was that far because we went mostly the back way to shelby...if I had known 74 would have been that deserted in the morning - we would have taken 74 - It may have saved us 5+ miles.

Of course I didn't even do the speed limit but a couple of times.....

I was driving so slow because my mouth was racing! I obviously can't drive fast while my mouth is doing the Indy 500! But it was fun to have Jackie with me. She was a hoot!

Amy, how do you keep your white cochins so white and clean? I have 1 white Brahma[light] and she never looks clean.

I can't say how that happens! They are on dirt either in the brooder room where it doesn't get swept as much as I would like or they are outside. They are on dirt and grass as I like them to be as natural as possible. I do not have orange dirt like most people though. I live in farm country where the dirt is rich and dark. Maybe that helps? It certainly isn't from bathing!

Thank you for the compliment!

Yes, we will probably have another in the spring sometime.

It was a great location and we had a fantastic turn out! Hope to see you next time!

It is great that the First Semiannual Carolina Chickenstock was a success. I look forward to the next come spring. I would suggest waiting till after the spring show season, so that would put it in April.

It was great Tricia. We had a lot of fun, though we were also late arriving. Thanks to you and your dh for all your hard work. We would come back in the spring for sure. Matt your adorable little mille fleur roo is finding his place in my flock.

Hi everyone!!

Just want to bring this back up to the top so we can start thinking about dates for the Spring 2012 Chickenstock, it will be here before we know it!! I am thinking the end of March beginning of April??? Not sure the spring show dates yet and want to work around them. Also want to have plenty of time to inform everyone and get as much publicity as possible. Also going to find another charity to donate raffle funds to. Look forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new peeps.

So that means I need to start hatching more for the sale?

I think late April would be best. March is still much too cold and we can still get snow that month. That would be terrible, to get snowed out instead of rained out!

At this point I do not have much of anything I could even offer as I sold so much recently. But maybe by April I will have a full brooder room and will have a lot of youngsters to offer.

Thanks for bringing this back up, Tricia. Maybe we could start an April 2012 thread once we know the date the shows will be.

Yep, Matt's the one to check with for conflicting show dates. April sounds better to me.
