CAROLINA CHICKENSTOCK FALL 2012

We are allowed to get there at 6:30 am to set up, aren't we?
I have a truck load of stuff to unload and a table to set up.
I might catch a nap before everyone arrives! NOT!

The hen is very pet quality. Not sure you would want her. You see her comb is off some, she came from another project that I had used the Mottled gene in and has an extra toe on one foot. The roo is decent though.

I really think this pair is very striking too! I don't want them--lol!--because I have enough but I did really like their looks!!
Not sure if I showed a photo of this pair for sale yet. Right now they are living with the Muscovy ducks. She is laying and they are both this year's hatch.

Hmmm. I will think abt it. I have a lone silkie hen I kept bc she is my favorite that needs a pal. How much would they be?

Ya'll need to stop posting pics of the birds you are bringing. The temptation is driving me crazy.

I may really be tempted if someone were bringing a coulpe EE girls close to laying age that are sort of a salmon color. That would be buffish to brown(different degrees) with a white beard. I had 2 chicks this spring, but lost 1 to a genetic heart issue and the other to bad food. That last one really ticked me off. Muffy was getting so pretty and looked so much like Priscila that we had many years ago.

oh, and I am down to 3 SL Wyandotte Cockerels. One found a home with his own flock of hens.

They are $20. I did not mean to offend but you usually go for the best quality birds and I did not think these would do since this girl is PQ. He is handsome and was such a pet when still sleeping in the brooder room and going out free ranging during the day. But a dominant roo beat his butt one day and I knew I had to find him a girl and put them in a pen. They do jump up on the roof of the Muscovy coop (about 4' high) and look out into the barnyard but go back down into the Muscovy pen where they are safe from the LF.
She is a real sweetie, too and takes petting that she feels she is due!

You are safe from me, Matt. I keep all of those EE or OE girls I hatch out. I like that coloring! I get it quite often from my blue wheaten Ameraucana roo over EE girls but I will probably have to sell him and an EE hen because I need the pen and I absolutely refuse to build more. And I know you don't want another roo so you are very safe from what I have!

How much do you you ask for them? I may be interested in one.
Sorry...been a busy weekend here...lots of projects we are trying to do during the long weekend!! One with all wire sides is $140.00 One with a enclosed "room" is $165.00 ... But you can enclose the wire one yourself with wood or even plastic to hang a light. I will have pics up tomorrow and can do custom request after the base one is posted !

Edited because our trip to Lowes produced higher prices on everything since we were there a few weeks back...ugh...
