CAROLINA CHICKENSTOCK FALL 2012

I also have a young Silver laced Wyandotte pair for sale. I own the parents of the roo but the pullet is unrelated hatchery stock. $20
Here is a photo of the parent stock of the roo. Can't say which hen laid the egg that produced the roo because I had 11 hens in the breeding pen. But Jerry is the daddy, for sure! You can see he is a big boy with great pattern, as well as my ladies having very nice patterning.

Here is the roo for sale. I do not have a current photo of the pullet yet. Good yellow legs with crisp lacing and white centers. He just started crowing recently.

You all remember I have ducks for sale, too, right?

A pair of Cayugas. This is the actual birds pictured.

And I have Saxony/Golden Cascade crosses for sale in pairs.
The girls look like this.....and this is actually one of the girls for sale.

Drakes below.
They look pure Saxony but I bred in the Golden Cascade to make better layers out of them. The two breeds look alike but Saxony do not lay as well as Golden Cascades.
Their heads are much darker now and they have lost the fuzz.

PM for any questions. Thank you for looking.

Amy I was going to suggest that you photograph the other pair of black and whites(I know, I am showing my ignorance by not knowing what kind they are but I am still learning!) together. Maybe that is why the one pair was so attractive. Sounds like you have them sold though so all is good! I am wondering if you actually will need to even go to chicken stock!! Well I guess for deliveries! eta AND for the fun and fellowship!!! The last might be the most compelling ... and seeing everyone else's birds. OK so the list is long!!!

That is what I am hoping for, Tracie.
I would prefer to make deliveries rather than stand there and answer the same questions about the same birds over and over to different people that come through. Not that I don't love to talk but when I have about 60 birds it can take a while plus we hope to bring about 20 containers of meal worms and maybe some chicks.
This way I can deliver to people and take some stress off of myself and visit with old friends and make lots of new ones!

I am SOO excited to find this event!!! We are closing on our farm THIS week!!! OUR children have lost all of their feathered friends at our rental farm and we are MORE than ready to fill our farm with fresh eggs and clucking friends!!! We will be attending the event to fill up our hen house!!! YEAH!!! CAN'T WAIT!!

Wonderful! So glad you found it, too! Bring the kids and lots of cages, crates and boxes for your new additions. Can't wait to meet new chicken folks!

I won't get there until late, noon at best, because I work in Charleston, SC until 8am. But I have been looking for two or three Dark Brahma hens for over a year now and would raise chicks instead, if necessary. (Along with lots of guinea fowl, we have one 2yrs old Dark Brahma hen, who has bewitched everyone with her wonderful disposition. So we want to help keep the breed going, which means getting a few more quality hens and eventually getting a rooster.)
