Thank you! Every time we let our chickens out, we put Toffee in a cage because she recently ate a bunny which means she has tasted flesh and our girls come first.

Our cats kill mice, voles etc. but they are terrified of the chickens! Now I would not trust them with chicks....same with our dogs too

A bunny is very impressive. We've only ever had one cat that could successfully kill a rabbit, she also would take down squirrels, snakes, etc.. but still never bothered our adult hens. Not sure if it was actually the size or more to much work with the 6ft tall fence in the way

while there was prey out in the woods to go after. But during the winter we would watch her more carefully. Our ladies are very important to us so I feel your concern. We watch the doggies since they seem very interested in them chickens. They are only a year old and still very puppy ish though so I cut them a little slack but don't allow them to chase around the pen or bark at them.

It's always good to be safe, but I can say that our barn cats catch birds, squirrels, rabbits, voles, mice, and weasels but don't go after our chickens. It's what they are trained to be bonded with.
