Well 15 is pretty darn good! Kitty must be getting good care. And I think the fuzziness of your picture makes it look like a painting. I love it.
All of my cats so far, even though they lived inside, ate the best food, went to the vet regularly, always had fresh water, had a happy and relaxed life, ended up with horrible diseases and died by 16. I tend to have animals that get sick - my horse even, lost her eyes to uveitis (still with me and doing great BTW). Not sure what it's all about. Maybe I should start feeding them the cheapest food on the market, let their water get dirty and run dry or freeze, never take them to the vet, let them have fleas, ticks and worms, leave them out in the cold, at night, with the coyotes...maybe then they'd live long, healthy lives. Actually, that sounds a whole lot like a barn cat I know who happens to be getting on in years! (Definitely not my barn...) This winter was really bad and I went to that barn every other day to give that poor guy water and food. 15 below, snow storms, whatever. Made him a shelter. Did the best I could. He's a long hair and becomes just big, dense, tight mats with a bunch of burrs mixed in. Then in the spring they peel off of his body to his skin, sometimes taking some skin with them. They hang off in big clumps and pull at his skill every time he moves. I cut them off. It's awful. They call it shedding... They get very defensive when I say anything. They no NOTHING about cats. One of these days, this kitty is going to disappear (in my car). Problem is I can't take him home and have no where but a shelter to put him (although I know of a great one). I think I am ranting. Forgive me. But, let me go on! They had chickens. Most died from dehydration I suspect. The four that were left were kept in a horse stall. For two years, I was the ONLY one who gave those animals food and water. Heck I bought them food a bunch of times. In the winter, their water would always be frozen because I just couldn't get there everyday. They'd be absolutely desperate for food and water. Sometimes I almost cry when I think about how they suffered. I eventually convinced them to let me take the birds to a rescue farm. Then, they got a kitten, in the dead of winter, and immediately started not feeding it enough, no water, outside day and night, no shelter, nada. He disappeared in my car very quickly and is the most wonderful creature. They think the fox got him. Tee hee. People.
