Yup. I lost 4 chickens to ONE raccoon. When we caught him in the trap (that btw is exactly like the one in the picture) we shot him. He was EXTREMELY fat. I was so mad at him, but I guess that's what raccoon's do. But guess what? Killing idiotic raccoon's who mess with my girls is what I do.

much like pork it is a coarse meat with a good deal of fat if some one BAR-B-Qed it you could not tell the difference

Racoon is just being a racoon, true to his nature. If you want to kill it and eat it, that is one thing. I do that to Bambi all the time. But to kill it and dispose of it for eating one of your chickens, seems like you might consider doing a better job protecting your flock... just saying...
