Caulking in the Coop

Nice coop. Try and get your wheels as close to the center of gravity as possible maybe just a touch away from the side from which you plan to stand when moving.

I have a bit of OCD when I build things and by caulking everything it makes it look perfect. It is all about aesthetics. I have a bunch of caulk from work so that is not a problem.

Yeah I have not gotten the venting in yet. I don't think I am going to like the aesthetics of a gable end vent. I am going to pull the plastic roofing off and put on laminate roofing with continuous ridge vent . I am hoping that with a continuous ridge vent, coupled with soffit vents I will have enough ventilation.

That ought to do it. I can see why you would not like a square vent on a steep pitched gable. Only way to make it look nice is to build a pair of triangular ones, which would look really cool, as would a cupola. I did 1 sq ft for each 4 chooks, so my 8x16 coop has 6 sq ft of permanent non-closing ventilation year-round for 23 chooks. In addition are 4 sizable windows for warm weather.
