I know someone else with a Pixel 4 XL and the same thing happened, except the camera never came back.

Further research done by me shows that this isn't a isolated incident.

ah, the Google phones, yeah I haven't ever had one, I stick to apple, so yeah it could just be a model problem.

I think so. My Pixel 4 kept getting puffy batteries.

Don't buy a Pixel 4. Buy a newer model.
