We were there today. Made a pit stop at the flea market on the way since that was undercover and I thought the rain wasn't going to let up. So we didn't get there until about 10:40 after the GPS got us lost.. went looking for an OE rooster or some other sq bantam breeds anything we didn't already have. However THIS is what we came home with!!
His name is Dinner even though he's a pet. That was an interesting drive home I kept wondering if I was going to end up with a turkey loose in the truck. My older daughters boyfriend held him in his lap the whole 1 h 10m trip home plus a stop into Zaxbys for me to grab lunch to bring home. My hubby will say YES to anything his daughters ask, we do plan to let him free range like our ducks do, currently he's locked up in the dog kennel for two weeks so he can get "reprogrammed" as was advised.
Thanks Eric and Le for a great time. The count now for our chicks is 35. Enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting some new friends. Looking forward to the next swap.

Micki, I took my camera but forgot to put the memory card back in it so that is my excuse, couldn't take any pictures without my memory card. My memory isn't too good. LOL
We want to thank you all for coming out to the swap.
It was a rainy start to the day but it soon ended and it turned out much better than we thought.
Met a lot of new faces and it is always great to see our peeps.
I do hope you all enjoyed the little poultry care seminar that I gave. I do not speak well in front of crowds
but I am learning so hopefully I will be doing more of them as the swaps come up. We unfortunately did not get pictures of this swap
but I know a few people took pictures so I do hope they get posted. Thank You all again and we look forward to seeing you in Inverness on November 5th and at our swap at J&J Tack in Ocala on November 12th.

Excellent! Any boy who'd ride for over an hour with a live tom turkey in his lap for the regard of a girl MUST be in love!
Glad to hear he (and the boyfriend) made it OK!
.
Only a few more weeks till their one year mark so yes he's very smitten with my daughter and would do just about anything to make her happy. There were a couple moments I really wasn't sure we'd make it all the way home but Dinner wiggled a bit then relaxed again. We tried the floor board method of transport you suggested but it wasn't working we weren't even in the truck ready to roll and he was trying to stand up! Just turned out horses a few min's ago and Dinner was laying in the dog kennel next to my chicken "condo" (really the breeding cabinet it's 3 high of 2.5x6ft cages). I think my daughters TB is more freaked out then the turkey is.. that dang horse thought he was gonna die when he saw that turkey.
I was one of the newbies at the swap. I just want to say a big Thank-you to the warm welcome from everyone. I said I was coming to learn and meet new people only!!!! Went home with a borrowed cage and 5 new young EEX's . So now I am up to 11. Thought I was safe not taking a cage. Thank heavens it was not the RMHORSE International. (Came home from it with another horse a few years ago.)
A BIG THANK-YOU to Le and Eric for all the help and information at the swap and all the introductions to everyone.
