Found out last night our new homeowners insurance company says NO LIVESTOCK! They won't write us a policy if we have chickens because "they might pluck someones eye out".

2 acres, farm country, what the heck! Sooo......gotta figure something out.

And I have babies hatching today woohoo

Hi Ferngully, missed you at the swap. That guy, someone called him and he said he didn't feel all that good, so I'll contact him again next time and tell him where when and what.
I personally would not worry about chickens on your property. That is rediculous. What more can they not cover for. I think hurricanes, sink holes, dogs, etc are far more dangerous than chickens. If I knew where he lived, I'd throw eggs at his house one night, and throw chicken poop on his car.

A friend of mine had same trouble, she went to Farm Credit or some type of Farm insurance and was actually cheaper then what she had.

Oreo died when I got home today ! Why is always the favorites! He was fine this morning, but our garage door broke while I was gone and the heat lamps were on, so hubby still had the door down. I think it got too hot for him, and he was so tiny to begin with. All the rest seemed fine, just him.................
