Chantecler Thread!

I just looked at the Fowl Stuff chick order form for 2017, and he's no longer listing Chanteclers. Maybe call him? Does Sand Hill have Chanties? Mary
I'm dropping the LF buff and partridge Chanteclers after the National Meet in Indiana this October. I'll continue to concentrate on Ameraucanas and a few other breeds of bantams.
Check out the Chantecler club's breeders directory for some contacts...

Thanks for the help everyone! I emailed someone from the Chantecler club's breeders directory for contacts list and am waiting to see if they have any. Thanks again!

Does anyone have weights for their partridge chanteclers at different ages that you could post here? I am wondering how the stock I sourced compares. I have previously breed New hampshires and they are excellent birds but roos frost bite combs in my Canadian winters.

My 13 week cockerel blue family weights range from 4 lbs 9oz to 3 lbs 7 oz.
My 13 week cockerel purple family weights range from 3 lbs 6oz to 2lbs 10oz.
Both families are from eggs I bought and hatched. I am not impressed with the purple family as they are runty and have tons of blemishes. I will probably cull them entirely and try to locate better stock
My 3rd family is only 3 weeks so to young to weigh but they seem runty and poor quality as well.
It would seem to me that a lot of folks selling hatching eggs have no right to be doing so as 2 of 3 sources of stock I received are poor quality.
Thanks in advance for your input.

My twelve and thirteen week old white Chantie cockrels weighed in at 4 lbs. and 4.3 lbs. tonight. My Marans/ Wyandotte cockrel, twelve weeks old, is 4.5 lbs. I didn't weigh all of them, but it's a small group this year. Mary

Hi,
Does anyone have White Chanteclers built with the Silver gene
instead of one of the White genes?
Thanks,
Karen
