If Natasha needs to be chilled, I could do it but it would be almost three weeks. We will be on duck duty at my parents while they are gone. After that we are free unless another house comes along.

My DH decided to use the outside faucet. This was so scary all ducklings flowed out of the brooder and pooped all over my deck. thinking about working on the blue pekin breed.

Blue Pekin? I've never heard of one. Is that a real thing, or a science project you're working on?

Magnolia Ducks has been hatching and brooding ducklings from our flock . The drake is a fawn and white Indian Runner and the hens are Rouen, Pekin, and a K/C. The Pekin ducklings all are turning blue. None of the others hatched from this flock have done that so the blue has to be coming from the pekin.

Yes they are. Once our property is settled I want to take one of them back home to see if we can start a new breed. It might have to wait until spring.

Here are my little accidental Blue Pekins. The big one is Barbra Lewis and the smaller one Carl is a week younger. this is their last night in the brooder. They should have been out last week but I couldn't bring myself to part with them. This is my older Blue pekin, you can see the gray on his fuzzy butt, it extends all the way to his neck but only visible when he flaps his wings.
