Charleston we have a Broody here!

Had to have been him. No predator marks on her just a pecked eye and feathers torn out on her neck above the break and Beverly standing on her body going all medieval on Natasha who was screaming. The other ducks were cowering in the coop. I knew he was being aggressive with her is why I had him in gander jail. I never thought he would kill her just chase her and pluck feathers. He is fine with humans, has never shown any aggression towards me or my husband or even the dog or cat. I have taken him to the vet twice and can just pick him up and put him under my arm. Go figure.

He chases the other two drakes but doesn't catch them. Beverly just ignores him when he goes on attack and he never touched beverly, only sparkles the other goose. Beverly will spend time patrolling between him and everyone else. He may be small in stature but a big heart. Just not big enough to stop this from happening.

Ok this will be a long post. First pictures. Barbra Lewis gets in and out of the brooder at will. This morning all four were knocking on the back door to come in.

Just got back from burying Sparkles. Put everybody together and watched about 30 minutes and all was well. Went back to the air conditioning and checked an hour later. Beverly was standing over Sparkles body and fighting off Natasha. Natasha has murdered Sparkles. Broke her neck. I don't need external predators any more. Beverly is sick at heart. I had to physically remove him from her body. I had just figured out she was a goose and hoping the two would pair. So the trial has been held, the sentence passed and it is now just a discussion on the method of dispatch. I think I will stick to ducks for the future.
Good grief! - That sounds like an episode of "Animal Farm"!
Sorry for your loss! :hugs RIP Sparkles!

Little Limpies!

Ok, there's no way for Limpy to claim those are not his:
full

They even started to develop dad's pencil marks in their little faces.

Where is your gander now? I think I’d keep him away from all the others now that your goose is dead he may start in someone else.
well he has been found guilty and sentenced has been passed. Method of carrying out sentence still under debate but I won't have to worry for long. He is currently in solitary confinement.
