Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

Thankfully for us winterizing just means making sure the tarps don't have any holes in them, and placing planks for roosts instead of cylindrical roosts

For me, it's hanging tarps and shower curtains on their runs for wind and snow protection, stapling feed bags over some windows in coops to block wind from the perches while still allowing some ventilation, finding and cleaning out the black rubber bowls for below-freezing water dishes, preparing the dropping trays for upcoming freezing weather, and cleaning out the bedding in the coops and replacing it with fresh.

I didn't do the bedding yesterday, so technically I'm not actually done yet, but that's easy enough to do even in the cold because I can wear gloves for that, so I wasn't feeling rushed on that part. That more just needs to be done before there's snow on the ground because the birds refuse to go out in it and obviously I don't want them moping inside on dirty litter all winter.

Yeah, I don’t have birds anymore so it’s nice but I miss them

Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't realize! :hugs

Yeah you're just a couple hours north of me, so our weather is probably pretty similar--though I imagine y'all get a lot more snow than us here being so close to the lakes!

Sorry you'll have to deal with chilled fingers now, ugh! That was exactly what motivated me to finally get my winterizing done yesterday!
Mother Nature took pity on me and gave me another chance today! I got it done! :yesss:
Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't realize!
Oh, dang. Me too. Sorry @TheDawg. :hugs

And another :hugs, just because.

Thank you both. :hugs

We had to get rid of them when we moved :hit

Forgot to respond again :th . That's quite a list! Thankfully not absurd, but tiring, I'm sure! Totally unrelated, but would you let a girl sit on eggs during the winter, if she were to go broody? That's for pipd, for some reason the quote didn't...well, quote

I’m eating so healthy now lol I bought sliced apples, baby carrots, sweet potatoes, blueberries, plus little snack packs with cheese, nuts, and fruit. Zero sugar drinks (Gatorade and lemonade and mango passion juice). Keto bread. Etc. I did get some regular bread and some everything bagels to make breakfast sandwiches but I’m limiting myself.
