I'd be disappointed if there is no hatch but I would be OK with it. I don't really need more birds anyways, it just would be fun to have some locally hatched out chicks! Either way I'll live.

I'm trying to figure out what to do next with this turkey, he can't stay in the carrier forever and I'm starting to see that I won't be able to free range him for a couple of weeks at least or he might take off.

the 25th sounds great. psst, don't tell anybody but my hatchery order is coming the 24 and you know what for chickn will be in it. shhhh.
wendy, as tired as I am I just could not go to bed till I gave one of my new sizzles a little cuddle. I am holding it now. thank you so much. I love it! forgot to ask the hatch date. trying to figure what temp they should be at. could you let me know?
I am also watching my next hatch. 2 are out and 1 more on the way. I am already saying. ohhh I need to keep this one. and it isn't dry yet. it's a sickness I tell you. thank goodness dh can build.

that was the largest partridge sizzle so i am thinking 3/8 because in my book it looks like i am questioning what hatched and i was, i wasnt expecting partridge from 2blue silkies and forest, and i wasnt expecting partridge from a blue silkie with 2 splash and 1 black hen.

thats where the turkey went! on the way home i was like, wasnt there a turkey when we pulled in? but by the time we set up and began to be able to look around there was no turkey.

now what to do with it? i assume you have a chicken coop? i was thinking you could run something between the run to temp make it 2 runs with the carrier as his shelter until your done with the quarantine time?

Congradulations on the Job, some times things just have a habit of working themselves out.

Now You are expected to arrive at each and every swap LOL.

Thanks!
I just have to remember to get stuff done at night now. I was kinda getting used to having my days free to bake and such

Congrats on the job!!!!

ChickMagnet, i was able to win those frizzled polish bantam eggs! 6+ (hoping for 7 or 8 and none broken along the way!)

let's hope i have some extra chicks i can trade or sell at some upcoming shows.

here's what i have going in my bator right now: 4 bantam salmon faverolles & 12 bantam polish-mixed colors, everyone seems to be developing.

what i have on the way: 8+ standard faverolles, 6+ SQ bantam polish-splash, blues, blacks, and the 6+ frizzle bantam blue polish.

is there a main link to all the upcoming shows? i'm looking at going to some in may or june with the birds i don't need, and some of the craft items and plants we may have by then.

now i know why everyone says they are addictive. i have 3 chicks now and I WANT MORE!!!

My chicken coop has no attached run just yet, still building, my chickens free range during the day.

As for "Bruiser," my new Turkey, I fitted him with a dog harness today and tomorrow I will have him out on a leash

He looks cute in his blue harness with reflective paw prints all over it

He doesn't seem upset about wearing it and I used it to guide him from the carrier he was in into a larger wire dog crate this evening. He is much happier in the dog crate since he can now stand tall and has space to walk back and forth (although the space is limited). I threw a blanket over three sides of the crate for the night, I hope he will be warm enough. The crate is in my run-in shed so he is out of the wind and wet.

give in and give that turkey run of the house. lol
it must be difficult dealing with when your not ready for him and then it rains.
