Please don't blame the stores. Most of us who have purchased chicks from farm stores have gotten different breeds than what was labeled on the tanks and possibly a male. Most farm stores that have chicks get them from hatcheries. Many are all mixed in the shipping boxes not separated by breed so the stores do their best to to put the chicks in the proper tanks and most people who buy chicks from the farm stores may get a male when the tanks are labeled pullets. Some boxes are divided so they can put some breeds in one half of the box and other breeds in the other half and they do make an effort to label the boxes so the stores know which breeds are there. The hatcheries have a 90% guarantee. If you want certain breeds my suggestion would be to research for a breeder. Often times it's hard to separate the chicks because many look so similar as chicks.
