Chick has choked on something and tongue has slipped down the throat...

:thumbsup You may want to wet Blondie's feed, like a mush, maybe easier going down. Throat's probably bruised & sore. Glad you had the help & did what you had to, saved it's life for sure. Thank you for the update
There is wet food as well as the chick starter but Blondie seems to be eating the dry starter more than the wet. I hope this continues. Thanks ChickNanny.

Yes I thought so too especially after the tongue went even further down and disappered. I hope you can see on the video that it's just one hole I could see and I had to fish the tongue up out of there. Poor thing was probably so close to death I figured I'd try rather than kick myself later. It's still not out of the woods but does look better this morning.

Well Hallelujah! That is wonderful news, and from the way Blondie is picking up and eating crumbles, I'd say the tongue is still functional. (I hope you give the vet an update. ;))

There is a visible lump in the neck to the chick's left side just under the jaw, which I'm not sure what that is but thinking maybe swelling after cotton being caught so long around the tongue.

Congrats on finding the string!

The lump...are you sure this isn't just a full crop?
