Chick is hatching out the bottom side of the egg...should I turn the egg over?

The little guy should be fine. Congrats!
(It's going to pip and zip, rotating itself in the eggs and then pop out. Shouldn't matter what spot it pops at, whether at the bottom or the top.
That one did hatch quite quickly!
I have another one in the bator now..can you see in the picture? The two hatched ones in there keep pecking at it, and it's chirping and moving...is it normal for the membrane around the hole to look so thick like that?

It looks a little dry to me.. but hard to tell. Either way it wont hurt to put a bit of coconut oil on it for good measure..
So it's ok to open the incubator to do that even though others are pipped? The humidity in the incubator right now says 78%
My incubator is in my classroom, so I don't have any coconut oil (or any other oil) available..will something else work? Or could it wait until tomorrow morning? (this one has been pipped since this morning if not sooner)

It will be fine if you take it out quickly and keep the bator closed while you work on it. You can also use Vaseline or Neosporin. Water will help if nothing else is available today. Just dab some on gently with a q-tip or something similar.
Also, the humidity is a tad high, not dangerously by any means, but you have more wiggle room with it at 78.

Could it wait until tomorrow morning? I don't have any of those materials here at school :(

Ok... do you have any paper towels? If so, wind a cornner and dip it in water and just tap the membrane gently and let the water moisten it. Is that possible at the moment?:fl
Yes, I can do that!
Should I do that to the other one that has pipped too? Or just wait on that one? The one in the pic has a bigger hole and the membrane looks tan and dry. The other one has just a very small hole with a whitish membrane...should I dab that with paper towel too? I don't want it to wet the chick since I can't see that one
