Chick is hatching out the bottom side of the egg...should I turn the egg over?

I do feel like I saw some chewing motions now...it's just so hard to tell! I don't want to assist if I shouldn't!
If I leave now (3:30pm) and I'm back by 7:30am do you think I'll still have time to act more then?
Its very possible. You've done all you can do for now. If its still chewing its still absorbing and best to leave well enough alone. Go home and try not worry. And remember, not all will make it. But you have done your best! :hugs:fl

ok. I saw other people posting about wrapping it in moist towel if assisted hatching. I'll quickly take it out and cross my fingers that it lasts till morning
Yes.. if you will be there to keep a close eye on it, however since no will be available till morning i would be nervous about leaving it. Now others may pop in and advise differently and you have to go with what you feel is best in this situation, im only giving my opinion and like anyone else's , it may not be the best option for you. But i would be afraid to leave it on unattended...

General recommendation is: don't put moist towels on the eggs. They actually end up drawing moisture out of the egg. Or so the literature says. I would go home, and expect to return to the classroom in the morning to find it hatched. I would be very cautious about putting water on a membrane. A misplaced droplet could actually cause the chick to aspirate and drown.

Thanks lazy gardner:frow... i was concerned about that too but just as concerend about the membrane drying out and she couldnt find anything else at the moment. She did find some antibiotic ointment tho so didnt have to use water after all...

Ok...
I took out the towel.
Hopefully in the morning it will be hatched!! Praying...
Would the antibiotic have the same effect of drawing out moisture or drowning? I really hope not!
