They are definitely blackshoulder. What else they may or may not have is hard to tell right now. There is some white mixed in so I would suspect pied as Othman suggests. They are also light so they could be cameo but it is real early. White eye will also lighten them. But, but, but, there is no Black Shoulder anything in that pen! Unless the IB Pied WE cock is split Cameo?Would that make him a BS also? Is it even possible to be a IB Pied WE Split Cameo split BS? The only hen in there that could even remotely be split BS also came from where those two mystery cocks came from and appears to be a IB Pied.![]()
Are you saying that I need a SP cock to produce SP chicks? I knew that this pen would produce some interesting chicks, I just didn't expect that it would be so hard to figure out WHAT they are. The only thing I was sure of was that they should all be double factor WE except for the ones that come from the IB Pied hen.
And we are not even up to the head scratcher that I alluded to in my first post.![]()
Cameo hens cannot produce any cameo chicks unless the cock is cameo or split cameo. Cameo hens can only produce split cameo cocks by themselves.
I believe that both parents must carry SP to have a chance to get SP chicks. That is my opinion based on what I have learned and personally seen.
