He looks real young so probly only a couple of days, it's amazing how fast they improve. Check it in a couple days,if he is walking fine then take it off, if not leave it on a few more days then check again.

So crazy legs is walking but her feet are just not under her yet and she doesn't even seem to try. She's still in leg irons and her toes are still curled. In fact one of her feet the toes seem dead, and she picks at it constantly. I'm thinking she has bigger problems than splayed legs. Even though her legs are now under her body she still keeps her feet splayed out. I'm thinking she has one bad foot. I double checked her leg irons and there is no way circulation is cut off.

Anyone else w/ thoughts?

He/she is moving. I rebanded the legs so she can at least get around. I'm just going to be persistent until she gets the strength to keep her legs under her.

She's cute and tough so I have hope.

I have had 3 silkies in the last week born with this issue. I wonder if it's a silkie thing? I chalked it up to temps to high in bator. Now, i'm not so sure. Other silkies are fine and thriving. I was able to fix a cuckoo marans chick with wicked curled up toes on one foot, he walked on his knuckle like a gorilla does. I spread his toes out, duck taped both sides then cut the space out between his toes on the tape. I let him walk around in it for 3 days, then noticed it was gone!!! It feel off on it's own and he's all good! The duck tape is soft enough to mold to the leg so he could walk, yet firm enough to keep his toes in the right place. I still have the little booty i made him and will post shortly. Don't give up.

This is the boot that fixed chicks foot issue! See how it just fell off, it got shavings, etc. in it and took care of itself with minimal intervention.

fluff and feathers grow back...mishapen bones will be unable to be corrected if you wait.

no, in fact, as soon as i can get a photo, i'll show you the booty. It fell off on it's own in 2-3 days. It gets full of shavings, food, etc. and the sticky was gone off it, so it' slipped off nicely, probably when he was pulling his foot out of the food dish again.
