My biggest concern with that would be the risk of bacteria entering directly into the brain.

that's what I was thinking and I don't know how to combat that but I'm sure there's a way to combat infection I'm not the person to ask

This chick will never be able to be integrated with his flock mates. If the injury itself won’t kill it, unfortunately it will get pecked to death by the others.....I’m so sorry that you have to make such a painful decision.

Looks like the brain is exposed. The kindest thing that you can do for this chick is to euthanize it in a humane fashion.

I’m not a vet or a doctor and I don’t now what brain matter looks like but it almost looks like some kind of tumor... it extrudes past like where I feel like brain should be. Does that make sense? I could be wrong

Maybe if you have a really good vet they could do a house call

You don't what germs getting into to it either way the thing that's most likely to kill it is an infection I think so I think keeping it covered would be a good thing maybe a like little bandana would work

I moved it to a clean incubator that I sanitized, I was worried about that too... I don’t know if it’s actually it’s brain.

I honestly don’t think it’s brain matter. It wouldn’t be able to function due to the fact the brain would be damaged. I agree, it would become picked on from its flock mates, it would have to kept separate until it heals or it gets medical attention.

I don't know about chicken anatomy but maybe a tomur but in the way of the skull fully devoloping
